Groupx class

Barre

This unique class combines the best functional elements of Pilates, Yoga and dance for strength, tone, coordination and balance. Ideal for those returning to fitness right through to the athlete (guys and girls) looking for increased performance, agility and control.

 

Flex

Yes, if you attend this class often enough, you will have ‘FLEX APPEAL’. Using weights of your own selection you’ll learn the best techniques to quickly trim, tone, shape and strengthen your body. Suitable for all, the class will stimulate your metabolic rate leaving your burning calories at a higher rate for hours to come.

Pilates

Come and enjoy this intelligent class with a proven history of providing mobility, coordination, balance and core strength. You’ll focus on connecting your mind, body and breath to promote your physical well-being.

Stepx

Push your fitness up a notch or two with the ever-popular STEP. By structure the class invites a slower beat than traditional classes allowing for a special line of music that will have you moving, toning and burning calories in a stimulating FUN atmosphere.

XCORE

The new millennium sparked a growing awareness of the value of strengthening your ‘core’. Many traditional exercises lack the focussed emphasis that deliver this result. Poor ‘core strength’ makes your lower back vulnerable to injury and reduced athletic performance. XCORE focuses on your core stability, strength and balance using Swiss balls, hand-weights and Step.

XRIDE

An indoor cycling bonanza! Our passionate XRIDE instructors will drive you over the hills and valleys, leading you to break-through into higher levels of fitness and satisfaction. You’ll achieve far more than you would alone with this often challenging, high intensity experience. XRIDE is suitable for ALL levels of fitness as you can easily adapt to your comfort level when needed. The XRIDE Team will periodically introduce a short-term ‘challenge’ – like the 21-day TOUR de FRANCE. As you can imagine this adds extra FUN and reward for XRIDERS.

YOGA

Proven through the ages, this peaceful inclusion combines breath and movement to clear your mind and carefully stretch tired muscles, increasing your energy and adding ‘life’! You can enjoy the more traditional YOGA and/or the slightly livelier VINYASSA FLOW YOGA.

Breathwork

Learn the skill of breathing well. You will experience the three parts of a full breath: diaphragmatic, thoracic and clavicular. It’s so important to breathe fully. Due to a range of lifestyle factors including chronic stress, poor posture and a lack of awareness, up to a staggering 95% of people breathe incorrectly! Breathing fully results in increased; physical performance, lung capacity, C02 tolerance, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), improved cognition, regulates your nervous system and optimises gas exchange.

Gym orientation

If you are new to the gym, the Gym Orientation will make you comfortable and informed in how to use the facilities and equipment. Typically, start with a light Life-Fitness Cardio-Machine Warm-up. Then you will enjoy a Rocket Circuit tune-up, strengthening and toning and learning how to safely and effectively utilise each machine. Your Coach will be able to answer any queries you may have. If you want, you can return to repeat the Gym Orientation.  Allow 30 minutes.

Club Virtual - On Demand!

If the club’s LIVE classes don’t fit your schedule on any particular day, you won’t miss-out. Providing that the GROUPX Studio is available, simply ask the Team at reception to help you select a suitable class. There is a HUGE RANGE available to you, from YOGA and MARTIAL ARTS, to HIIT and ZUMBA. The CYCLING routes are always popular taking to through workouts high in the mountains of Austria and France, or you might even find yourself in Miami. The massive digital screen will make you believe that you’re right there!

X45 Metabolic Cardio


Taking your body to a new level!

Combining cardiovascular and resistance training for an intense workout with the aim of intense bursts of exercise to elevate your heart rate and managing recovery. Our 45-minute session will include a range of movements, exercises, circuits, and high intensity interval training to help you reach your full potential. Metabolic is for those wanting an extra push in a guided environment, taking you to a new level of cardio, conditioning, endurance, and weight loss.

Imagine YOU with the strength, fitness and endurance of an athlete! Athletic aims to bring you a range of functional cardio workouts. No workout is the same, with a variety of circuits and HIIT to burn calories and build your aerobic base.

X45 Strength Upper/Lower

You’ll become measurably stronger each week!

With the main focus of progressive overload, Strength aims to build a strong foundation for your compound lifts and accessories movements. A weekly split of Upper and Lower body will guide you through various exercises, rep ranges, lifting tempos, and overall functional strength movements to elevate your gains in the gym.


NEW CLASS

The Dojo

As a member of Club Physical, you’re able to utilise the especially fitted DOJO for boxing, wrestling and martial art training. The simple rules are NO FOOTWEAR and that you clean the floor after use (mops and sanitiser are provided). You’ll need to be clean, with clean clothing and, if in contact, your nails clipped. 

To join in with the high-level Boxing or Wrestling Coaching, you’ll need to upgrade to a WINNERS or ATHLETES membership.

XBOX

You’ll float like a butterfly and sting like a bee with this high-intensity authentic boxing-training workout. With zero to low contact the class is suitable for ALL. You’ll experience basic boxing combinations and techniques, with increased fitness and conditioning as a biproduct. You’ll be coached by iconic Kiwi Boxing judge and trainer, Chris Numia. All YOU need to bring are your own gloves and a sweat towel.

PIWI Wrestling

This is the ultimate self-defence class based on the World’s first Olympic sport. It’s ideal to build your child’s confidence and great conditioning for sport. It’s suitable for boys and girls between the ages of 4-6. There will be opportunities to compete in New Zealand.

Junior Wrestling

This is the ultimate self-defence class based on the World’s first Olympic sport. It’s ideal to build your child’s confidence and great conditioning for sport. It’s suitable for boys and girls between the ages of 6-14. There will be opportunities to compete in New Zealand.

Adult Wrestling

Founded in 2006, Club Physical Wrestlers have won numerous Gold-Medals nationally and represented New Zealand Internationally. This includes the Commonwealth Games, The Oceania, Youth Olympics, Australian Championships and others. You’ll receive World-Class coaching with New Zealand’s best. You can come just to enjoy the training and if you want, go a step further on to competition.

Boxing

Get trained in boxing and learn self-defenses techniques. Boxing is a combat sport fought with fists. Basic boxing combinations and techniques, fitness and conditioning are all covered in the class. Train with Chris, who has 22 years of kickboxing and training. You just need to bring your own gloves!

Jr. Oly free wrestling

The ultimate self-defence class based on the World’s first Olympic sport. Ideal to build kids’ confidence and to supplement sports conditioning. Suited for boys and girls aged 6-14. New kids will have the opportunity to compete in the same year.

Piwi wrestling

The ultimate self-defence class based on the World’s first Olympic sport. Ideal to build kids’ confidence and to supplement sports conditioning. Suited for boys and girls aged 4-6. New kids will have the opportunity to compete in the same year.

Sr. Oly free wrestling

Club Physical Wrestling was founded in 2006. With the help of leading coaches like Clinton, and now Amir, our wrestlers have won numerous Gold Medals in New Zealand. Several have overseas experience including the Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympics. As a beginner you will be well catered for and receive the best coaching available.
